Broken Window Theory

My focus and that of the leadership team in my administration will be to address Broken Window theory issues. This may be a new term for you. As a Euclid Police Department employee years ago, I learned the stark truth that when we travel through a new community and we see broken windows, abandoned tires, leaning structures, vacant storefronts – we draw conclusions. We immediately feel unsafe. We feel like hope is not alive in that area. We feel like local government is sleeping at the wheel.

Directors, Chiefs and neighborhood leaders will know under my leadership, directives will be given and measured to address these issues, neighborhood leaders will be supported and encouraged to lead in their sphere of influence and we all will work together to continuously improve Euclid. My guiding principle will be the Community Policing Philosophy.
